   Brick Township, Ocean County, New Jersey, has a population of 76,119 (2000 Census), making it the second largest city in county behind Toms River Township. It was incorporated in 1850 from portions of Dover and Howell Townships. Brick Township’s 26 square mile area makes it New Jersey’s 13^th largest municipality in geographical area (not in population), and it has the great attractions that add to its reputation as a year-round destination.

   Brick Township’s ocean beach is convenient to all of the best attractions in Ocean County. Three clean and lovely beaches, usually referred to as Beaches I, II and III, are located just off Route 35 on the Barnegat Peninsula. Brick Township, New Jersey has been a family favorite for decades.

   The Lenni Lenape native Americans were the first to live here, and Joseph W. Brick, an iron works proprietor, gave his name to the community that included carpenters, ship builders and sailors 150 years ago. This Ocean County, New Jersey community has the hotels, motels and B&B’s with perfect accommodations for visitors, and great shopping at retail outlets including national chains and major franchise stores, plus local shops, is within easy travel distance.

   Travel the northbound side of Route 35 to small, specialty shops and places for a quick lunch or meal. Miniature golf, playgrounds and tennis courts are also found between the ocean and bay. The great beaches and recreational activities make Brick Township a great spot for vacationers, weekenders and day-trippers.
